The car park will be closed from Monday 26 June, with work to begin on Saturday 1 July.

Troon station’s car park will close shortly to enable the reinstatement of the fire-damaged building.

The car park, adjacent to platform one, will be used to establish a site compound, an area to assemble the station’s new canopies and to site the crane that will lift them into position.

From 00.01hrs on Monday June 26, the carpark will be fully closed to vehicles and will remain closed until the completion of all works in summer 2024.

Ahead of work to construct the new the station building, the replacement platform canopies, destroyed in the 2021 fire will be assembled and installed.

This will begin on Saturday July 1 between 23:00 and 07:00 and will continue for 15 weeks on Saturday nightshifts and on weekdays between 08:00 and 18:00.

Helen Agnew, Network Rail’s project lead for Troon station, said: “The canopy installation at Troon station is a vital part of the station redevelopment and the closure of the car park is unavoidable to enable safe access to the site.

“While we understand the short-term impact of this work is inconvenient, the long-term benefit will be a new, modern station building with improved facilities that will serve residents of, and visitors to, the town and will enhance the community for many years to come.
