The event was hosted at the Glasgow office of UK law firm Shoosmiths, where a mix of senior and junior colleagues from Taylor Wimpey and its industry partners and suppliers were brought together to facilitate the important conversations that support this year’s campaign theme, #breakthebias.

This year’s event also included a virtual presentation by Nicky Moffat CBE who talked to guests taking part in all eight regional events about her experience as the highest ranked woman in the British Armed Forces, as well as the practical actions that helped her and her team to thrive.

Caroline Proctor, land & planning director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, who hosted the event in Glasgow, added: “Being part of Taylor Wimpey’s regional network of eight events was an opportunity for us to recognise International Women’s Day by being together to celebrate how far we have progressed as a company in terms of female representation at all levels of our business.

“We were delighted to be part of the conversation that helps to strengthen our momentum and progress in achieving gender equality in our sector, and to fuel our commitment to keep making progress.

“Furthermore, it was a real honour and pleasure to hear from Nicky Moffat CBE. Her words resonated with many in the room and I’m confident that we have all taken inspiration from her to push the agenda to #breakthebias.”

Lauren Miller, legal director at Shoosmiths, said: “We were delighted to be asked to support Taylor Wimpey in hosting this important event for International Women’s Day. Creating an inclusive and supportive workplace is key to our business. We are completely committed to gender equality and generally recognising the importance of being yourself at work. Events like this help to reinforce this important message to our colleagues, clients and industries that we support.”
