Fearless Alasdair Rankin, managing director of Aitken Turnbull Architects, completed an epic tandem sky-dive in support of the firm’s chosen charity partner for this year – SAMH – Scottish Action for Mental Health.

The intrepid boss descended 15000ft from a twin-engine aircraft high above Peterlee Airfield in Co Durham. The sponsorship funds raised for Alasdair’s momentous sky-dive exceeded his initial £1500 target for SAMH, with contributions continuing to roll in towards £2000.

Alasdair rose to the adventurous charitable challenge which was selected by his fellow staff members at Aitken Turnbull.

He said: “I relished the opportunity to do this sky dive. It took me way out of my comfort zone, but when we reflect on the fantastic work done by SAMH and how they transform thousands of lives, I was more than delighted to take part.

“My thanks not only to my Aitken Turnbull colleagues for their very inspired suggestion and to the team at Sky-High Sky Diving for their invaluable help on the day, but also to everyone who sponsored me.”

So far this year, Aitken Turnbull’s charity endeavours have raised almost £7000 for SAMH. The firm has participated in the Edinburgh Marathon Relay and raised funds at its corporate day at Kelso Races.
