InverTay Homes appoints McGill to plumbing and heating package
McGill is to deliver a plumbing and heating package for InverTay Homes across its multiple new-build housing development sites in Dundee.
The Dundee-based housebuilder is currently building a variety of 2, 3, and 4-bedroom semi-detached houses, with a mission to build sustainable, affordable, desirable housing, and using local tradespeople wherever possible.
As part of that goal, local contractor McGill has started a programme of works worth approximately £330,000, with future works also being discussed.
Co-founder and director of operations at InverTay Homes, Eddie Wighton, said: “InverTay have grown steadily over the past few years and we require sub-contractors who can join us on our demanding journey. It is critical to us that our teams can deliver high quality work, on time, and on budget. Throughout talks we have been impressed by the approach and ethos of McGill who are currently going from strength to strength. They have demonstrated the ability to meet the needs of InverTay and our long-term plans. I am pleased to have them on board.”
Mike Pratt, commercial director of InverTay, said: “We are delighted to be able to confirm our appoint, and the works are to be carried out by McGill, part of the United Capital family. McGill will become our ‘preferred’ plumbing and heating contractor and we hope this is the beginning of a successful long term professional relationship between our two companies. Having local contractors on board wherever possible is important to InverTay and this appointment cements our commitment to creating further employment in the local area.”
Bernie Kelly, contract manager at McGill, added: “The whole team at McGill is hugely proud to be working with InverTay Homes. They are another local company which believes that every home should be completed to the highest possible standard, and made sustainable too. With McGill’s future firmly focused on sustainability, this is a programme we’re very pleased to part of. We hope to work with InverTay Homes more often in future, as they begin more developments across Dundee and beyond.”
