The President’s Inaugural Address
Mohamad Al-Dah said: “I thank Tanya de Hoog for her 2024 presidency, with calls to action that inspired the profession to think about our roles and where we can make a difference.
“Structural engineering is an ever-changing profession, operating in an ever-changing world. As such, we have the technical skills and influence to bring about positive change in the designs we create and build – to be more carbon literate; to forge meaningful working relationships with others; to foster a culture of mentoring and adherence to the best EDI principles – all this while ensuring what we design and build is safe.”
Yasmin Becker, CEO of IStructE, added: “Mohamad’s enthusiasm for structural engineering is evident in all he does, from mentoring to making links with other professional bodies and organisations to create a better built environment. We all congratulate Mohamad on becoming President, and I look forward to our continued work together in 2025.”
