Italian Consulate selects Insite Group as main contractor for New Italy House revamp

Construction, refurbishment and fit-out company Insite Group has been appointed as the main contractor for the highly-anticipated refurbishment of the Old London House, East London Street in Edinburgh.

The iconic building will become the new home for the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute.

Glasgow-based Insite Group, known for its expertise in refurbishments, fit-outs, renovations and high quality craftsmanship, was chosen through a competitive tender process. The company’s track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget, combined with its commitment to using local suppliers and talent, resonated strongly with the project stakeholders.



The refurbishment of the Old London House will see the transformation of the existing property into a vibrant and functional space that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Italy.

The project will include extensive interior works, creating modern office spaces, cultural exhibition areas, and public reception facilities. Insite Group will work closely with the
Italian authorities and architects to ensure the refurbishment incorporates modern amenities and full accessibility features.

The refurbishment of the Old London House is expected to begin in February and be completed by July.
