Falkirk-based engineering firm John Jenkins & Son today set out its positive and ambitious plans for future growth and development as it launched a new name and new branding.

The third-generation family business, which won the President’s Award at this year’s Scottish Engineering Awards, has doubled its turnover in the past three years and it is set to increase this by a further 40% in 2023. Staff figures have also increased by more than 30%.

The business is now set to double its production facilities at its Redding base and make further investments into new technologies and into staff training and development.

Jonny Jenkins, managing director of the business which will now trade as Jenkins Fabrications, said: “Over the last few years, the company has made major strides forward through increasing our structural capacity, moving into complex high-value projects, and creating a management structure for strategic growth. We’ve invested in new technology, upgraded our IT systems, and delivered a major commitment to staff training.

“Since the business was begun by my grandfather back in 1958, our focus has always been on quality and service, and with this foundation - complemented by the recent internal developments - we have greatly increased our customer base and our range of work.

“Now, with a committed and highly skilled workforce, a proven track record, and many of the top clients in the United Kingdom, we have planned a new phase of the company’s journey with an ambitious vision - to be the leader for steel fabrication in the housebuilding and construction sector.

“We are very proud of our history, but the name change and the new branding reflect our new position, and the professionalism we bring to every aspect of our fabrication work will now be encapsulated in the equally professional delivery of our brand, whether that be in our website, our van liveries and signage, or our marketing and corporate materials.

“These are exciting times for Jenkins Fabrications. In 2023 we celebrate our 65th anniversary and we approach that milestone with thanks to everyone who has helped us on the journey, with a continued focus on delivering quality and service to our clients, with a firm commitment to support and train our own people, and with a planned vision for future growth.”
