Jingle all the way from Bellway
Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West) helped put a big smile on the faces of children in Robroyston this week.
The housebuilder, which has a development Ellingwood in the town, donated £200 towards the cost of selection boxes which were distributed by Santa on a tour of the area on December 19.
All the hard work organising the event was worth it according to volunteer Deborah MacPherson of Robroyston Community Council.
Deborah said: “The children absolutely loved seeing Santa and The Grinch and getting their gifts – it was a real highlight for them and we are so grateful to Bellway for supporting this venture. It has been a hard year for everyone and it was nice to see all the happy faces.”
The organising team, led by local resident Sarah Blair who ran the first Santa Tour last Christmas, distributed more than 900 boxes to local children and charities.
Pauline Coates, sales director for Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West), said: “It was lovely to be able to get behind this fun event - Christmas is about children and we were delighted to make this donation.
“Robroyston has been very welcoming to us since we started building at Ellingwood and it is nice to say thank you. There is a fantastic community spirit there, it’s no wonder it has been one of our fastest selling developments, it is such a great place to live.”
