JLL promotes Fraser Blackwood to director of planning, energy & infrastructure
JLL has appointed Fraser Blackwood as a director in its planning energy & infrastructure team.
Since joining the commercial real estate advisor in 2021, Fraser has played a fundamental part in maintaining and growing JLL’s planning position in Glasgow, securing a number of new instructions.
Fraser has worked on notable developments within the area including Custom House Quay, Hunterston Parc Masterplan and Buchanan Galleries.
The team recently increased its capabilities by merging with JLL’s EMEA energy and infrastructure advisory team, advising clients on the crossover between commercial planning and renewable energy generation and the opportunities to utilise land and estate interests to achieve energy security, commercial return, and net zero carbon ambitions.
Fraser Blackwood, director of energy & infrastructure at JLL, said: “I’m pleased to enter into this new chapter and to continue working with the wider team to bolster our planning and development offering in Scotland and wider remit in renewable energy across the UK. The race to net zero puts a significant demand upon our clients to explore renewable energy potential and the position within the EMEA Energy and Infrastructure Team provides a unique opportunity to model options for onsite and near site opportunities.”
Steven Black, lead director - planning, energy & infrastructure at JLL, added: “Fraser’s appointment will allow us to continue to serve and grow our commercial client base in Glasgow whilst broadening our existing capabilities within the energy sector as part of the Energy and Infrastructure Team. Fraser’s skillset will help our core clients to realise renewable energy ambitions from the identification of early-stage options, routes to delivery and completion.”
