Kier joins ‘Buy Social’ pledge
Kier Group has reinforced its commitment to supporting social enterprises and delivering positive social value through its supply chain by joining the ‘Buy Social’ pledge.
The Buy Social Pledge, run by Social Enterprise Scotland, brings together corporate businesses, SMEs, academic institutions, and public sector bodies looking to commit to bringing social enterprises into their supply chains. It allows businesses and institutions to harness their purchasing power for good and contribute to positive social change in local communities.
Organisations who sign up to the Buy Social Pledge commit to fostering inclusive economic growth. The pledge signifies a transformative approach to doing business, where businesses become catalysts for positive change in communities.
Phil McDowell, regional director for Kier Construction North and Scotland, said: “Kier is delighted to join the Buy Social Pledge and is committed to creating meaningful impact in our local communities. By supporting social enterprises across Scotland, we aim to help build a fair, inclusive and sustainable society, delivering lasting positive change where we work and live.”
Jamie Lawson, strategic partnerships & engagement manager at Social Enterprise Scotland, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kier Construction to the Buy Social Pledge. Their commitment demonstrates the powerful role the construction industry can play in supporting social enterprises and the communities in which they work. We look forward to working closely with Kier Construction to maximise the social and environmental impact of their projects.”
