Kier scores hat trick of Scottish wins at Considerate Constructors Scheme awards
Kier Regional Building scooped three national accolades at this year’s Considerate Constructors Scheme annual awards for projects based in Scotland.
The ceremony, which recognises the UK’s most considerate sites for the contribution they have made towards improving the image of construction, recently took place at The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh.
Kier Regional Building Scotland was honoured with a gold award for extensive refurbishing work at Edinburgh College of Art for the University of Edinburgh and a bronze award for the complex restoration and refurbishment of Aberdeen Music Hall for Aberdeen Performing Arts.
The work that Kier Regional Building is currently carrying out at The Burrell Museum also received the highest acclaim of being recognised as an Ultra Site – the pinnacle of best practice in the construction industry and demonstrating exceptional leadership, collaboration and innovation.
All of the projects were praised for the measures put in place that allowed the sites to be more considerate towards the public, the workforce, local neighbours and the environment.
Brian McQuade, managing director of Kier Regional Building Scotland and North East, said: “We strive to maintain the highest standards of site management across all of our projects and making a real difference to the communities that we work in, so it is very special to receive three national awards and in particular, achieving Ultra Site status.”
