Kier shines with fifth RoSPA Gold award
Kier Regional Building Scotland is celebrating after being awarded an industry-leading ‘Gold Award’ for health and safety by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) at a ceremony in Glasgow yesterday.
The RoSPA award scheme is the largest and longest-running of its kind in the UK.
This is the ninth consecutive year that the Scottish business has been recognised for its excellence in health and safety and the wellbeing of employees and operatives, and the fifth consecutive year they are taking home the highly coveted gold award.
Dan Gallacher, senior SHE advisor for Kier Regional Building, said: “We operate at the highest safety levels and retaining the gold award for the fifth year in a row is testament to that. Huge congratulations go to the whole Kier team and our supply chain for all their hard work and commitment to continuously improving safety standards at work and keeping our sites and staff safe.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, added: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar with new sponsors and new awards this year including the Leisure Safety Awards, the Safe@Work Safe@Home Award and the Inspiration Awards. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”
The RoSPA scheme is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, and recognises achievement in health and safety management systems.
