Laing O’Rourke has appointed Peter Williams as a technical director for Europe.

Formerly building engineering leader at Aecom, Williams joins at the end of May and will focus on project and digital engineering, design management and quality.

During his time at Aecom, Williams was in charge of building engineering across Europe, the Middle East and Africa region. Before that, he headed building services engineering for WSP and previously spent 10 years at Arup, latterly as its building engineering leader in London.

Laing O’Rourke, group technical director Paul Westbury, said: “I am delighted that Peter is joining us. He is a highly accomplished and respected engineer with a wealth of experience in leading project design and delivery, across many market sectors, from the very earliest engagement with clients, through to on-site delivery and onward operations.
