Pre-construction work to prepare the roads and sewers for this parcel of development will get underway this month to allow continuity of build with the current phase of new homes for sale.

The fifth phase of Taylor Wimpey’s Calderwood development will deliver a choice of three bedroom semi-detached, as well as three, four and five-bedroom detached homes to allow it to continue to provide a range of options for first time buyers and growing families.

According to the housebuilder, the overall masterplan at Calderwood incorporates a design that aims to create a sense of place and maximises the latest Scottish Government Planning Policy for ‘Designing Places’ where it aims to integrate with the local area.

The development also makes significant contributions towards providing additional local education capacity including the delivery of the new Calderwood Primary School, which is almost complete, as well as local transport improvements that are part of Section 75 legal agreement between lead developer Stirling Developments and West Lothian Council.

This latest phase of new homes at Calderwood will complement Taylor Wimpey’s previous four phases of development at Calderwood where a wide choice of three, four and five bedroom homes within the current Phase 4 are proving a popular choice with a wide range of buyers. It also signals the company’s ongoing commitment to West Lothian through its development at Heartlands near Whitburn, as well as future land interests in Bathgate.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are so pleased to have acquired further land at West Bonnington Road in Calderwood, which will allow our team to provide a further 74 new homes, which is the ideal way for us to show our commitment to the wider West Lothian area.

“Calderwood will not only continue to provide residents from around the local area with a wide selection of homes, it offers great commutable routes to Edinburgh and the wider area. As one of the largest housebuilders in the UK, we are committed to building more than homes and making sure that we add social, economic and environmental value to the wider communities that we operate in.”
