Levy & McRae boosts construction law team
Specialist litigation law firm Levy & McRae Solicitors LLP has appointed one of Scotland’s most experienced construction law specialists as a partner.
Richard Barrie has joined the 150-year-old Glasgow-based law firm and will advise clients on all aspects of the building industry from contract negotiation to dispute management.
Mr Barrie is one of the most respected and recognised legal experts in his field, with a reputation for taking on highly complex and often high profile cases.
He joins Levy & McRae after the recent summer signings of three of Scotland’s most well-known and respected lawyers.
Stephen Giusti and Professor Leo Martin joined the firm as consultants after the acquisition of the Glasgow legal practice of Giusti Martin.
The Levy & McRae team was further boosted with the return to the firm of Tony Caplan who has re-joined as a Partner having left in 2003. He previously joined the firm as an apprentice and became Senior Partner.
Mr Caplan, who has extensive experience in private practice, specialises in matrimonial cases, particularly those that are high value or high profile, together with property and litigation.
David McKie, managing partner at Levy & McRae, said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard Barrie to the firm. His first class construction law experience will be invaluable to our range of clients.
“Richard’s appointment, combined with Tony Caplan’s welcome return and the addition of vastly experienced solicitors Stephen Giusti, Leo Martin and their team further strengthens Levy & McRae and adds to our combined experience and skills to continue to deliver first rate, focused and astute advice to our valued clients.”
Mr McKie added that Messrs Barrie, Caplan, Giusti and Martin join the firm at an exciting time following the move to new modern office facilities at Pacific House, 70 Wellington Street, Glasgow.
