Construction industry charity the Lighthouse Charity has launched a new logo with the help of Plymouth Argyle Football Club and a local building firm.

Classic Builders SW Ltd, which operates throughout Devon and Cornwall, partnered with the Wayne Rooney-managed Plymouth Argyle and the Lighthouse Charity to raise awareness of the support available for those in the construction community.

Classic Builders, Argyle’s front of shirt sponsor and proud supporters of the charity, seized the opportunity to share the limelight with their chosen charity at the prestigious Carabao Cup game. Lighthouse Charity was given the amazing opportunity of seeing its new logo shared with thousands of supporters at Argyle’s cup game against Watford. As well as having the logo on Argyle’s shirt sleeves, the game was also viewed by thousands on Sky Sports.

Fred Bennetton, Classic Builders director, said: “I started in construction as an apprentice bricklayer in 1986. Through hard work, commitment, and not being afraid of a challenge, Classic Builders was born. Today, Adam, my business partner, and I are at the helm of a leading regional contractor celebrating over 20 years of success. We employ a talented team and have the privilege of working with some of the region’s finest supply chain members.

“We know our industry has its challenges – that’s why we have been longstanding supporters of the Lighthouse Charity. Working closely with its regional club, over the years we have been able to raise awareness and vital funds through events, football tournaments, and shared publicity opportunities. Our sponsorship of Plymouth Argyle Football Club continues this.

“We have pledged to share a number of the benefits associated to our sponsorship agreement with the Lighthouse Charity. Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be donating sought-after club items, including match tickets and signed shirts to support their fundraising efforts. We’ve also got a number of collaborative opportunities with the charity coming up - enabling us to uniquely support its regional club, promote local engagement, and proudly give back to our industry.”

Argyle head of commercial, Sam Greenfield, is delighted to be working with the charitable and said: “We are thrilled that the Lighthouse Charity was able to be our sleeve sponsor for the cup game against Watford. They are an important charitable partner to our front of shirt sponsors Classic Builders and we want to support them in any way we can by providing a platform for the causes they are passionate about. Having their logo proudly adorning the sleeve in front of thousands of people is clearly one way of providing that!”

Sarah Bolton, CEO of the Lighthouse Charity, added: “We were thrilled to have the opportunity to share our newly launched logo on Argyle’s shirt sleeves, and even have televised coverage! A huge thank you goes out to our loyal supporters who offer us these great opportunities and ensure that we get the message of support out to those that need it.”
