Link secures green light for mid-market rent homes at former Govanhill bus depot
Glasgow City Council has approved plans to build 186 affordable homes on the former site of a bus depot in Govanhill.
Designed by Mast Architects on behalf of Link Group and Park Lane Larkfield SPV, the project will see 24 one-bedroom flats, 128 two-bedroom flats, 30 three-bedroom houses and four two-bedroom cottage flats for mid-market rent developed on the former Larkfield bus depot.
Colin Culross, director of development and asset management at Link Group, told our sister publication Scottish Housing News: “The development will provide 186 properties for mid market rent, including 152 one and two-bedroom flats and 34 three-bedroom family homes.
“Eighteen flats will be delivered to standards capable of future adaptation for wheelchair use.
“Working in partnership with our contractor, we have engaged with local schools, colleges and groups to deliver our community benefits requirement and will continue to do so for the duration of the contract.”
The bus depot closed in 2014 and was relocated to a new purpose built facility in nearby Cathcart Road.
Works are due to begin in early 2019.
