Lochend Community Growth Area site earmarked for hundreds of homes

A pre-application consultation is underway into plans for hundreds of homes on the eastern edge of Glasgow.
Avant Homes is proposing to develop on a site on greenbelt land south of Lochend Road, beside Easterhouse.
The site is designated in Glasgow’s City Development Plan as Lochend Community Growth Area.
The developer stated: “The proposal is for residential development together with associated engineering, infrastructure, landscaping, and open space. The final scale of the development will be subject to the outcome of further analysis following public consultation.
“The indicative capacity for the site is around 300 new homes.
“On the northwest, north, and northeast of the site lies a proposed extension to Local Nature Reserve (LNR).”
