Lockerbie data centre secures three-year planning extension
Developers behind a data centre proposal near Lockerbie have been granted a further three-year extension to its planning permission subject to conditions.
The Peelhouses Farm project initially emerged almost 10 years ago promising an £800 million investment and the creation of thousands of jobs.
Proposals to include a housing scheme as part of the wider development were later dropped.
The latest plans, agreed in principal in 2010 and extended in 2013, include a horticultural research facility, technology park and visitor centre.
The previous planning permission ran out last year.
The request for planning permission to be extended by a further three years was submitted by consultants Blackmores D Limited.
No objections were lodged and the proposal was accepted by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
