Lovell selected for £4.8m Clydebank tower blocks modernisation
West Dunbartonshire Council has selected Lovell to carry out a £4.8 million programme of external refurbishment work for three 15-storey blocks of flats in Clydebank, Glasgow.
West Court, Clyde Court and Park Court, all at Littleholm Place, are made up of 270 flats.
Work has just begun on the year-long scheme which will include the installation of a new structural insulated overcladding system to the buildings’ upper walls and of insulated brick slip and render cladding to the ground-floor walls. Other improvement work will include replacement windows throughout the blocks, new ramps and canopies at the main entrances and replacement ground-level external metal doors and screens.
Residents will remain in their homes during the work. A dedicated Lovell resident liaison officer will be based on site and will be residents’ main point of contact, ensuring they are kept fully informed and helping ensure the work goes smoothly.
Lovell was appointed to carry out the improvement programme through its membership of West Dunbartonshire Council’s framework for carrying out fabric repairs to multi-storey blocks of flats. The company has successfully carried out similar refurbishment work for the Council through the framework, including the upgrading of six multi-storey blocks in Clydebank.
Lovell regional director Alan Taylor said: “This latest modernisation programme will help homes become warmer and more energy efficient with improved insulation through the overcladding as well as a range of other improvements. Our team is very pleased to be continuing to work with the Council to deliver these important benefits for residents and their homes.”
