Major plans lodged for more than 400 Inverurie homes
Developers Malcolm Allan Housebuilders and Chap Homes have submitted joint plans for a major new housing development in Aberdeenshire.
Proposals have been formally submitted to Aberdeenshire Council to build 416 houses and a number of commercial units in Inverurie at a site beside the B9170 Inverurie-Oldmeldrum road covering almost 38 hectares.
It is currently undergoing construction of infrastructure, with the new Uryside Primary School under construction nearby.
The plans seek to amend housing types in two previously approved applications for the development in 2013.
Documents submitted state: “The current application seeks planning permission for a change of house type within pockets of two already approved planning permissions.
“The changes are sought in response to a change in the housing market in the last decade in Inverurie and introduces a redistribution of the original 416 housing units to create more housing choice by introducing a greater range of house types, including many smaller units.
“Overall, the redistribution and change to the housing mix results in a reduction of 59 bedrooms to that previously approved.
“The site layout, road network, drainage, servicing, access, linkages and provision of public open space all remains the same as that previously approved.
“The site continues to be allocated for housing in the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan 2017 and indeed recognises the two consents approved.
“The proposal accords with the other relevant policies contained in this plan and does not introduce any new matters.
“The scheme fully complies with the policies of the Scottish Government and the Development Plan and as such we respectfully submit that the application be approved.”
