Founded in October 2014 and servicing Leicestershire and the surrounding areas, Maxi has made a considerable investment in a technically advanced concrete production facility and customer-focused delivery systems.

The approach allowed the company to quickly establish a solid reputation for high-quality readymix concrete and great customer service.

However, having considered dynamic expansion plans for the firm, Maxi said it has decided to sell the business to Aggregate Industries, a company “which shares our vision and has a similar approach to the readymix sector”.

Aggregate Industries, a member of the LafargeHolcim Group, said the acquisition is in line with its Strategy 2022 - “Building for Growth” and will allow the company to strengthen its market position within a region offering growth opportunities and further develop its strong customer focus.

Guy Edwards, CEO of Aggregate Industries, said: “We have been very impressed by the Maxi Readymix Concrete Limited team and are delighted to welcome them to the Aggregate Industries family.

“Utilising their experience in the construction sector and their strong focus on customer service, we will be able to assist the business with its future growth plans, complementing our own existing activities. This acquisition will strengthen our position in the Midlands market and will support our ambition of remaining the supplier of choice for our customers.”

James Abraham, director of Maxi Readymix Concrete Limited, will continue to lead the company in order to progress the development plans.

He added: “Since establishing the family-run company in 2014, we have always prided ourselves on being a truly reliable readymix concrete supplier, delivering high-quality products and first-class service.

“We are confident that under the ownership of Aggregate Industries this will continue and the business will further thrive. I strongly believe that this partnership will offer us the support needed to continue developing in the local market.”
