McDonald’s drive-through proposed for East Kilbride

Plans for a new McDonald’s drive-through restaurant in East Kilbride have been lodged with South Lanarkshire Council.
The fast food restaurant is proposed for a brownfield site at the corner of the Morrisons car park on Lindsayfield Road, STV reports.
The planning statement says the proposal “represents sustainable development of a prominent brownfield site, which will provide a range of local jobs to the area”.
An earlier application was withdrawn following feedback about road traffic, and the newly submitted plans include more pedestrian links as well as 35 car parking spaces.
Councillors will make a determination on the plans by 18 September 2023.
