McGowan Infrastructure marks major milestones in Invernesss substation and underground cable project

Civil engineering firm McGowan Infrastructure Ltd has achieved key milestones in its substation and underground cable route project for Freedom Group in Inverness.

The firm has successfully completed the first stage of groundwork and installed concrete foundations for the transformer halls. The erection of the structural steelwork is now under way, marking a critical phase of the project that will enhance the region’s energy infrastructure.

In parallel, the underground cable route from Longman Drive to Riverside Place is 85% complete. This cable route is a crucial component in supporting energy distribution for the area.

Ross McGowan, founder of McGowan Infrastructure, said: “These successes are a direct result of the hard work and expertise of our project teams and partners.

“I’d like to thank Murform for their excellent work on the concrete foundations, AJ Engineering for the precision in erecting the structural steelwork, and Hill-Tec for their invaluable technical and engineering support.”

The company, based in the Cairngorms National Park, aims to become a leading partner in the renewable energy and utilities sectors.
