McLaughlin & Harvey achieves BRE BIM Level 2 certification
McLaughlin & Harvey has become the first construction company in Scotland to be awarded BRE Global BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification.
Operating throughout the UK and Ireland, building, civil engineering and facilities management contractor McLaughlin & Harvey has joined the growing ranks of companies with BIM credentials.
“We are very proud of achieving this highly respected certification, and in particular of being the first construction company in Scotland to do so,” said Barclay Chalmers, managing director at McLaughlin & Harvey Construction.
“Being able to formally demonstrate Level 2 compliance not only allows us to expand our engagement with centrally procured government contracts but also gives new and existing clients firm assurance that our processes and procedures deliver best value to a project, including capital and operational predictability.”
Guy Hammersley, BRE Group’s director for BIM, added his congratulations: “Well done to McLaughlin & Harvey. The certification will enable the company to increase its competitiveness in the public and private sectors, save time and money through simplified tendering processes and share BIM’s benefits across numerous sectors.”
BRE Global’s BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification scheme assesses a business in relation to its BIM capability and policy as outlined in the PAS 1192-2:2013 and PAS 91 standards. It also considers the ability of the business to meet the requirements of an employer to implement BIM on a project.
