Elliott, which has three major branches in Falkirk, Livingston and Inverurie, achieved the accolade through working collaboratively across Scotland with apprentices, HR, local schools and key building partner Robertson Construction.

Investors in Young People (IIYP) is a national award run by Remarkable, a leadership and organisation development business who invest in young people in Scotland.

As a key employer and champion of apprenticeships throughout Scotland, Elliott embarked on achieving the accreditation in January 2018. The award recognises its work in helping young people gain vital employability skills, prepare for future employment and receive career information to assist their long-term progression in the building sector.

In addition to being an ambassador for employing and supporting young people across the country, Elliott specialises in providing temporary, semi-permanent and permanent accommodation solutions to either hire or buy and has over 55 years unrivalled experience in this unique build space. Its Scottish branch network has the ability to design and deliver innovative modular building solutions for primary schools through to hospitals.

Catherine McFadzean, regional key account manager for Elliott in Falkirk, said: “This award means so much to our staff across Scotland who work tirelessly to open doors for hundreds of young people. Central to us achieving, it was our work with local communities and schools such as the Inverurie Academy and the ability to break down many of the barriers faced by those starting their career within the construction sector.

“The future of our workforce and business growth in Scotland hinges on us investing the time in young people now to develop their skills, build their CVs and give them a seamless transition into the industry.”
