Moray councillors approve over 80 new homes for Hopeman and Lhanbryde

Moray Council’s planning and regulatory services committee has approved planning applications for 48 homes in Hopeman and 25 affordable homes in Lhanbryde, with a further eight specialist supported housing units.

The site to the west of Hopeman will include affordable housing and indications have been given by the developer that future plans may include a care home setting, which would be applied for separately.

Grampian Housing Association also had its application approved for 25 one and two storey homes and two-storey cottages in Lhanbryde, with a further eight units to be reserved for specialist support housing, including a staff block.



Proposals for this site, off Garmouth Road, also include a play park, pitch, footpaths and landscaping.

Councillor David Bremner, chair of the planning and regulatory services committee, said: “Developments like these are taking a holistic approach when introducing new communities to Moray. Including amenities for residents of all ages and provision for future generations is vital to ensuring a development is sustainable.

“The committee has recognised that when approving these particular developments and we look forward to seeing the communities flourish with their new residents.”
