More than 150 new homes given green light in Blairgowrie

Perth & Kinross Council has approved plans by Persimmon for a new housing development near Dunkeld Road in Blairgowrie.

The development is set to deliver 152 homes, ranging from two-bedrooms to five-bedrooms. The homes have been designed to meet local housing needs, with a focus on offering affordable routes to homeownership. The plans incorporate energy-efficient features, such as solar panels and electric car charging points, that will help to reduce household bills and contribute to a sustainable living environment.

The development will also offer open public spaces, including areas for recreation, and a detailed drainage strategy will be implemented to enhance the area’s flood resilience.

Persimmon’s investment will include more than £800,000 to support local schools. The project will also create nearly 100 jobs per year in the construction sector, with an additional 70 jobs in the local supply chain.

Robert Patrick, Persimmon North Scotland land director, said: “We’re delighted to have received approval for this important project in Blairgowrie. We’ve listened to the feedback from local residents and worked to ensure the development meets the needs of the community, while creating affordable routes to home ownership for local families.

“This investment will provide new homes, local jobs, and funding for schools, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this development will have on Blairgowrie.”
