The new building will be constructed at the current St Flannan’s site, on Newdyke Road. The project will see two existing primary schools, St Flannan’s and St Agatha’s, consolidated to form one modernised education offering, fit for 21st-century learning.

Once complete, the school will comprise 12 open classrooms, each with an attached breakout area. The finished facility will occupy 2,259 sq m across a single storey.

St Flannan’s is the fourth school to be built under the council and development partner hub West Scotland’s Primary School Improvement Programme. It follows the successful delivery of the multi award winning Lairdsland Primary School, which was recently crowned Development of the Year at the Scottish Property Awards.

Work to link the St Flannan’s campus to the 3G pitch at Merkland Recreation Centre is already underway and the full project is scheduled for completion by spring 2017.
