Morgan Sindall wins RoSPA Patron’s Award
Morgan Sindall Construction’s Scotland business has won another prestigious RoSPA Award, taking its total to 27 consecutive years of Gold Awards.
The achievement sees the firm presented with a RoSPA Patron’s Award in recognition of the contractor’s commitment to upholding scrupulous health and safety excellence.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards now celebrates its 68th year as the UK’s largest and most impactful health and safety programme. Morgan Sindall Construction is one of 2,000 entrants across nearly 50 countries and seven million employees. The programme recognises organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents, looking at entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems.
Introduced in RoSPA’s centenary year, the RoSPA Patron’s Award is the highest achievement category that RoSPA offers and reflects the successful implementation of Morgan Sindall’s Responsible Business Approach. The plan revolves around protecting and developing people, amongst other environmental and societal adherences.
The tier one contractor said it is committed to going beyond expected responsibilities by making the Health, Safety and Wellbeing activities even more open to all stakeholders and supply chain partners. Paramount to Morgan Sindall’s ethos is ensuring that everyone gets home safely at the end of every working day.
Stuart Parker, managing director at Morgan Sindall Construction Scotland, said: “As a construction firm, we are aware that the potential for accidents within the workplace is greater than that of other sectors and industries, so health and safety has to be a huge priority for our sector. Receiving a 27th RoSPA Award demonstrates our strong culture, rigorous health and safety processes, as well as the dedication from each and every member of the team in upholding our high standards.
“Receiving 27 Gold Awards for consecutive years is a huge testament to the focus we have in providing a safe, protected work environment for our team. As one of the largest contractors in the country, Morgan Sindall Construction has a responsibility to be the standard-bearers for the industry and it’s an honour to be recognised with a Patrons Award.
“This award belongs to our entire team and our Supply Chain – it is their tireless efforts in upholding our safety culture and practices that have delivered this award. We look forward to 27 more years.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, said: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption – they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That is why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded.
“We are thrilled that Morgan Sindall has won the RoSPA Patron’s Award and would like to congratulate them on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees, clients and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”
