Morrison Construction is to join hub West Scotland’s supply chain as a primary construction contractor.

The appointment follows a refresh process through a PQQ submission and a selection process by hub West Scotland with input from the public sector participants and Scottish Futures Trust.

The tender process began in June this year and was open to contractors with an operational base in Scotland that could demonstrate a partnership approach, added value and experience of delivering public sector projects.

Morrison Construction said the appointment is testament to the work done by its teams across Scotland on health, education and leisure projects, and its successful track record on delivering quality projects for three of the other five hub companies.

hub West Scotland was established in April 2012 and has to-date successfully delivered 20 facilities worth £130 million, with £138.5m projects currently under construction and many projects in development including health centres in Clydebank and Greenock and Stobhill Hospital Adult Acute and Elderly Continuing Care Facility.

The West hub territory has an operational boundary defined by the Greater Glasgow and Clyde region, the West territory is serviced by one health authority; NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and six local authorities: East Dunbartonshire; West Dunbartonshire; East Renfrewshire; Renfrewshire; Inverclyde and Glasgow City Council. These organisations together with a number of other diverse public sector organisations are the participants within the territory.
