The Sir Arnold Waters Medal is a testament to the exceptional expertise, knowledge and insight demonstrated by Dominic and Ben in their presentation, which showcased groundbreaking engineering solutions implemented in the alteration of the National Galleries of Scotland: National. This uniquely challenging project involved altering and extending the 19th century structure in the centre of Edinburgh’s World Heritage area to improve accessibility and exhibition areas. The site was further complicated by the three main railway lines running under the structure. The collaborative efforts and technical prowess involved have set a new standard for excellence in the structural engineering industry.

Dominic’s expertise and commitment to the sensitive conservation of historic buildings have been instrumental in guiding Narro to success, cementing the firm’s reputation for delivering innovative, conservative, and sustainable engineering solutions. His collaborative approach and commitment to excellence have earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and industry peers alike.

Dominic and Ben were presented with the Sir Arnold Waters Medal at the Institution’s annual People and Papers Awards on the 7th of June.
