Net Zero Aberdeen wins RTPI Award for Excellence in Plan Making Practice
The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) has announced Net Zero Aberdeen as the winner of the Award for Excellence in Plan Making Practice at the Awards for Planning Excellence.
Developed collaboratively, the Net Zero Aberdeen Routemap and six enabling strategies are shaping a just net zero city transition, spanning the built and natural environment.
Judges described this project as a best practice example of drawing together a wide range of stakeholders to chart a course for achieving an ambitious net zero target for the area.
Now in its 46th year, the RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence showcase and celebrate the best plans, people and projects. The awards recognise and reward the brightest talent in the profession; the most outstanding plans, projects and people helping to transform economies, environments, and communities.
Lindsey Richards, vice president of the RTPI, said: “This was a fantastic celebration of our RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence winners. We had a record number of entries this year from across our nations and regions as well as internationally and it was a privilege to see the continuing positive contribution that planners deliver for society. Our profession is thriving and innovating to find ways to do even more for the communities nationally and internationally.”
