Net Zero Facades lays groundwork for future growth with HQ expansion

A Cumbernauld-based specialist in energy-efficient building exteriors has tripled the size of its HQ to take on larger contracts and grow its turnover by 50% this year.

Net Zero Facades has expanded to a new, larger site in Cumbernauld to support its ambitious plans, in line with sales forecasted to soar in 2025.

The move is supported by a seven-figure Buildings Transition Loan from Bank of Scotland. This will allow the firm to scale operations and ultimately take on bigger projects and potentially expand its workforce beyond its current 22 employees.

The move also reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability, building on its shift to using electricity from 100% renewable sources last March. The new site will support additional renewable energy measures, including the installation of solar panels and a biomass heating system.

And recently, Net Zero Facades was awarded for its role in transforming Aurora, now known as ‘Glasgow’s most sustainable office.’ The project, which retained an impressive 77% of its embodied carbon, earned the company the prestigious title of Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor at the Construction News Awards, arming the firm with a significant accolade as it looks to grow its operations.

Stephen Anderson, managing director at Net Zero Facades, said: “It’s incredible to think that we set up just three years ago and we’re already expanding at this scale. Demand is soaring, especially among developers in Scotland’s central belt, and this move gives us the capacity to take on bigger projects, designing even more low-carbon exteriors for developments across the UK.

“We’re not just expanding - we’re scaling with purpose. Moving to a site three times the size of our previous one is a game-changer. It gives us the capacity to support more businesses and continue progressing toward our net zero 2050 goal.

“It’s an exciting time for us and the support from Bank of Scotland has been crucial in helping us reach this next milestone.”

Derek Weir, relationship director at Bank of Scotland, said: “Net Zero Facades is a great example of how businesses can adopt more renewable practices within their business model to aid and facilitate growth. This expansion positions them perfectly to scale their business, meet increasing demand and strengthen their positive impact on the construction industry.

“We’re proud to support Stephen and his team as they build on their impressive momentum. With a strong vision and the infrastructure now in place to match their ambitions, the business is set for even greater success.”
