Network Rail seeks engineering apprentices in the Highlands
Network Rail has launched an appeal for applications to become engineering apprentices in Inverness and Helmsdale in the Highlands.
To mark Scottish Apprenticeship Week, Network Rail is highlighting its openings for apprentice engineers, who will learn and receive expert training and on-the-job experience to launch a career in the rail industry.
After an initial period of online and residential training, apprentices will join a depot close to home where they’ll be assigned a specialist pathway and their work will make a difference to millions of passengers and freight customers.
Rachel Hollinger, apprentice, graduate assessment and induction manager at Network Rail, said: “The rail industry is going through one of the largest transformations ever and our engineering apprentices are crucial as we build back better from COVID-19.
“All Network Rail apprentices gain valuable skills, experience, and nationally recognised qualifications over three years, while being supported by expert colleagues, allowing them to thrive in the rail industry.
“And after completing our apprenticeship scheme all of our apprentices are perfectly set up to take the next step on their career journeys.”
