Industry body Homes for Scotland (HFS) has today announced the internal appointment of Tammy Adams as head of planning.

The role will see Adams promote HFS membership’s interests across all aspects of planning policy relating to the delivery of much-needed new homes and supporting infrastructure throughout the country.

With an independent panel due to report on the findings of a comprehensive review of Scotland’s planning system this spring, Adams has highlighted the need for a strong and consistent approach to emerging policy at all stages of the process.

She said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to support and promote the efforts of Scotland’s home building industry in ensuring we have enough homes of all types to meet the diverse needs of our growing population.

“With output levels remaining some 40 per cent down on 2007 levels, but the benefits of increasing production clear, I am firmly focused on championing the significant contribution that our members make to Scotland’s economic and social wellbeing, as well as persisting in our efforts to create a supportive policy environment at all levels.

“I will also be leading the HFS planning team in promoting good practice and providing constructive, robust and consistent responses to emerging policy at the local and strategic development plan levels.”

Tammy joined HFS as principal planning advisor in September 2014 and has over 17 years’ experience as a town planner specialising in development planning, regeneration and policy development.
