New homes for social rent planned in Arden
Plans to build 22 new homes for social rent in Arden have been submitted to Glasgow City Council.
AS Homes Scotland Ltd wants to build properties to be let by Glen Oaks Housing Association on the outskirts of the city at Kilmuir Crescent.
Under the plans, there will be 18 two-storey homes and four cottage flats. Two of the properties would be wheelchair adaptable while 24 car parking spaces will be provided.
AS Homes has said the proposal is a “continuation of a previous phase of development nearby” and will contribute to “the ongoing regeneration of the area”.
The developer added: “The proposal will create a welcoming and attractive residential area with well-integrated and usable open space and landscaped areas.
“The car parking has been designed to remain as central as possible to ensure convenience and avoid over-prominence in the development, whilst the proposed amenity space is located in a prominent position to ensure overlooking and safety for users.”
