New images highlight proposed office makeover of ‘People Make Glasgow’ building
Osborne & Co has unveiled new images of its proposed transformation of Glasgow’s Metropolitan Tower into ‘defurbished’ office space.
Working alongside Cooper Cromar, the developer plans to convert the B-listed former Glasgow Metropolitan College premises in North Hanover Street into grade-A office space accommodating up to 1,200 staff.
A 25,000 to 30,000 square foot retail, leisure and food/beverage co-working market hall would also be created.
The developer states that the Met Tower project would create a “cultural-economic” hub, completely “reinventing” the building, inside and out.
In a statement, Osborne & Co wrote: “A complete ‘defurbish’ of the space will transform Met Tower, creating a cultural-economic hub that can accommodate up to 1,200 employees, connecting work, life and play in the heart of the city, boosting the economy , bringing a major part of the city skyline back to life and creating an icon.”
The exterior of windows across seven floors of the building currently carry ‘People Make Glasgow’ branding.
