New MD appointed at Scotwood Interiors
Commercial fit-out firm Scotwood Interiors has appointed Chris Nugent as its new managing director following the departure of Doug Kerr after 34 years.
Chris will join existing directors Jim Scott and John Taylor who have led Scotwood for 35 and 18 years respectively and are well known to clients and contractors.
Commenting on Chris’ appointment Jim said: “After 34 years of a fantastic partnership with Doug, which has seen us navigate the highs and lows of running a business (thankfully more highs!), it’s the end of an era but a new one begins.
“I’m delighted to be welcoming Chris to Scotwood as MD. He shares our passion and vision to continue the outstanding success we have achieved over the years, which could not have been done without our loyal and hardworking team. I look forward to the next chapter.”
Chris has over 20 years’ experience as an MD within the construction industry and has led and managed businesses of varying sizes up to £25 million revenue. A graduate of Glasgow University in Business Management and Economics, Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and has an MBA. Early in his career, he served in the RAF and decided to employ the management skills he learned in the commercial sector.
Of his new role in Scotwood, Chris said: “I am delighted to be taking up my new role with the Scotwood team! Scotwood has built up an enviable reputation of delivering a great service through great people. I’m also well aware that a big part of Scotwood`s success has been building and maintaining great relationships with its customers. These are qualities that attracted me to Scotwood in the first place and I will be working hard to ensure that they remain for the next 60 years.”
