The recent launch of SHARE’s new City & Guilds-accredited training programme strengthens the portfolio of courses designed to support staff in housing associations and cooperatives.

Alan Forsythe, training & development manager at SHARE, said: “The team at SHARE have been working hard to achieve City & Guilds Accredited status for our new Understanding Buildings & Managing Repairs programme.”

The programme provides delegates with knowledge and understanding of how buildings are constructed and function as domestic properties, be able to recognise common maintenance problems and develop the skills needed to successfully administer the reporting of repairs.

The Understanding Buildings & Managing Repairs programme consists of five modules and the first takes place on 30th September 2016. You can attend the full programme if you are looking for the accreditation or dip in and out of day module. More information about the programme is available here.

Being able to diagnose and report these problems with accuracy can save time and money and contributes to your organisation meeting its maintenance targets more effectively as well as keeping tenants satisfied.

Jim Wylie, technical services manager at Provanhall Housing Association, said: “I’m delighted that SHARE have introduced this City & Guilds accredited programme. A member of my team showed me the comprehensive training materials. It was clear that this was a programme with a difference. This calibre of training will provide those with responsibilities for reporting repairs a strong basis on which to develop their career in housing.”
