A mix of properties for social rent, mid-market rent and Low-cost Initiative for First Time Buyers (LIFT) are now available in the scenic village of Drumnadrochit.

The Highland Council has taken ownership of a number of high quality, energy-efficient homes built by Springfield Properties which started on site in April 2023.

Sixteen properties will accommodate families in a mixture of cottage flats, houses, and bungalows for social rent.

Cllr Glynis Cambell Sinclair, Provost of Inverness and Area and Housing and Property chair, said: “Drumnadrochit is a lovely village which is nestled on the northern shore of Loch Ness. The new houses are set in front of the dramatic background of nature where people can enjoy a nice walk, all while being a short drive from the city centre. There are also excellent schools in the area who do well to reflect the kind and welcoming community spirit of the village. I wish the future tenants the very best in their new homes.”

Springfield managing director for affordable housing, Tom Leggeat, said: “We are really pleased to have worked with The Highland Council to deliver high quality homes in Drumnadrochit. These homes are energy efficient, using innovative heating systems that are better for the environment and help keep running costs low for the residents.

“There is an outcry for high quality homes across Scotland and these homes will provide housing options for people in Drumnadrochit that want to stay in this vibrant community.”
