Newton Property Management has continued to accelerate its growth through the completed acquisition of Aberdeen-based Atholls.

At the end of July, Atholls transferred all common management responsibilities for 2,600 factored properties following a review of services.

Atholls Chartered Surveyors and Property Managers, previously traded as Atholl Associates LLP was founded in 2005 by Alastair Walker, Gordon Fettes and Graeme Thom. Newton Property Management has acquired the Property Management division of the company.

The deal sees Newton, which is a member firm of the Property Managers’ Association Scotland, continue to expand its presence in Aberdeen, now managing factoring for over 11,000 properties in the North of Scotland.

Newton Property Management CEO Vincent Goldie said: “Everyone at Newton Property Management wishes the very best for Alastair in the future. Atholls has a historic property management legacy having served the community for nearly 20 years.

“Newton was very keen to acquire Atholls Property Management portfolio as, under Alastair’s careful guidance, Atholls had built a stock of very high quality homes under management. Throughout this acquisition, we have ensured procedures and processes are aligned so customers receive a consistently high standard and continuity of service.”

Newton’s servicing commitment ensures a dedication to only using local property managers and contractors in Aberdeen, with plans underway to extend their programme for local community support in the upcoming months.

Alastair Walker added: “I have been proud to serve as a director of Atholls for nearly two decades. I wanted to ensure all of our customers’ properties continued to be professionally managed by an established Aberdeen-based factoring company with a dedicated local team. In reaching this arrangement with Newton I believe that they will offer a high level of service to Atholls’ clients.”

Goldie finished by stating he wished to thank his internal team who were involved in and assisted with the acquisition, his external legal advisors Freeths and Miller Samuel Hill Brown, along with software provider CPL Software for their hard work on the data migration.
