Next Young Professionals in Construction meeting revealed

YPiCNetworking group Young Professionals in Construction (YPiC) has announced its first event of 2016.

To be held at Quartermile One, during the third instalment of the now established networking forum, the attendees will hear from David Stewart of Standard Life Investments.

David is a Chartered Surveyor with 26 years’ experience in the commercial real estate market. He holds the Investment Management Certificate and IPF diploma in property investment. His current role is Fund Manager for the Standard Life Pooled Pension Property Fund, a large balanced open-ended real estate fund, which predominantly invests in core assets across the main UK commercial real estate sectors.

On the night, attendees will be offered the chance, through a short networking game, to win the opportunity for a guided tour of the new Queensferry Crossing. The outing, hosted by Arup, promises a unique and insightful tour of the construction areas, with the site team on hand to explain the process and design.

Andrew Marshall of 3DReid and the YPiC Committee said: “Now that the committee has finalised the plans for the third event, it’s been a great time to reflect on the evolution of YPiC, as a standalone event in the professional calendar. The now established and the hailed format of the event remains true to the original YPiC ethos; a relaxed, but focussed professional networking forum. I’ve been contacted by a number of attendees, who have confirmed the value in attending and their ease at meaningfully expanding their own networks.

“On the 9th, I’m really relishing the opportunity to interject on the Q+A with David, partake in some craft beers and catch-up with the room. The support we have received has been excellent and following a high number of inquiries, the committee are actively developing and seeking sponsorship from interested parties. I’d invite any firms who want to help, to get in touch with any one of the team.”

The save the dates for the event went out late last week, there are now over 110 signed up to attend. The committee would urge anyone who is still wanting to be part of the night, to sign up soon, before capacity is reached.

This YPiC Wednesday will be hosted at MMS, Quartermile One on the 9th March from 6:30 pm till 8:30pm.
