Nominations open for Association for Project Safety Member of the Year
The Association for Project Safety (APS) is inviting nominations for the new award of APM Member of the Year.
The award is for the individual member who, judged by their peers, has demonstrated outstanding leadership in design and construction health and safety risk management.
APS chief executive, Lesley McLeod, said: “The Association for Project Safety is introducing a new award for the APS Member of the Year to highlight the contribution individual members make to design and construction health and safety risk management. This people’s vote will sit alongside our established annual CDM and student designer awards.
“The aim is to give our nationwide professional members the chance to nominate a colleague who has gone that extra mile. I hope this can help the APS put safety, health and well-being at the heart of construction – so, let’s hear it for our heroes!
“APS members all know someone who has gone above and beyond the everyday - either in the advice and service they provide to clients or the way they go about the day job. They may take time out to mentor people at that start of their careers or have given up their own time to support a charity or organisation who helps others less fortunate. What they all have in common is a desire to lift the standards of the construction industry and help reduce the toll it can have.”
Nominations are open from Monday 15 July until noon Friday 16 August 2019. The winner will be announced at the APS annual conference at Sheffield Hallam University on Wednesday 4 September 2019.
Members wishing to nominate a colleague simply have to write in to APS headquarters by the deadline of Friday 16 August 2019 with their colleague’s details and, in 200 words or less, the reason why they should win.
