North Ayrshire Council hosts consultation events for Ardrossan Campus
North Ayrshire Council is hosting two events in February as it consults on the forthcoming planning application for the proposed new Ardrossan Campus.
These drop-in events form a key part of the planning process and will give people a chance to view the proposed plans for the new building and discuss and ask questions about the proposals.
The two events are detailed below:
- Thursday 9 February: 5pm – 8pm at Saltcoats Town Hall
- Friday 10 February: 1pm-4pm at Saltcoats Town Hall
The new facility at the North Shore site will be home to a new all-through educational establishment formed following the closure of Ardrossan Academy and Winton Primary School, Ardrossan Library and accommodation for the HSCP Children and Families Team. A new community swimming pool will also be part of the new development.
It is planned that the new Campus will be ready for August 2026.
Construction is due to begin next year but before the first bricks are laid extensive remediation works will be carried out. The Council has a designated page on their website which provides timeous updates.
Councillor Shaun Macaulay, cabinet member for education, said: “The development is an exciting one and has captured the imagination of people in Ardrossan and beyond. There is a lot of work to be done and we want to ensure the school community, residents and stakeholders are kept up to date with developments.
“These drop-in events will provide another opportunity for people to learn more about the plans.”
