Pacific Building celebrates 20th anniversary
Pacific Building is gearing up for an event-studded 2025 to mark its 20th anniversary as one of Scotland’s most successful construction and fit-out companies.
The celebrations will see Pacific – which was founded in 2005 with a tiny staff and has grown in stature since – showcase its expertise, its big-name client roster, its ethos and values and its vision for the future.
A suite of videos that encapsulate the Pacific story has been specially commissioned, and they will be broadcast over the coming 12 months, complemented by media releases, social media posting, bespoke website content, one-off graphics and more.
There will also be a reception in June 2025 to thank clients, colleagues and friends who have been part of the Pacific journey.
Over the years, the company has shown itself to be one of the most dynamic, flexible and forward thinking in the construction sector through its diverse client base, its defining experience in numerous sectors and its willingness to engage with new customers and embrace cutting-edge technical expertise.
The calendar of birthday events begins in January 2025 with the release of the first in a series of video films that mark the company’s achievements over the past fifth of a century.
The premiere of The Pacific Story – a ground-breaking all-animated film – will take place in January 2025 and will be followed by other events to mark the occasion including various events for colleagues and clients.
All of this will benefit the company’s partner charity for the year, Include Me 2 Club – an organisation committed to creating opportunities for individuals with additional support needs, disabilities and mental health issues.
A new logo dedicated to the anniversary has been commissioned and will represent the brand across our offices, sites and other locations.
Company chairman Brian Gallacher, who founded Pacific with a small but dedicated and loyal team, said: “This is a very proud moment for me, seeing a business which started with a small team and limited client base, developing into a trusted and respected construction company.”
Speaking at Pacific’s headquarters in Hillington, near Glasgow, managing director Gerard McMahon, added: “We are looking forward to the landmark year ahead, as it will give us the chance to reflect on our achievements across the last 20 years.
“Usually, our professionalism stops us banging our own drum but that is going to change – just for 2025. And, as an employee-owned business, it is an occasion for all of our talented staff to revel in the Pacific success story.”
Pacific became an employee-owned business in January 2019, which means every staff member is a beneficiary of an Employee Ownership Trust, which owns Pacific Building Ltd on behalf of all employees now and in the future.
The company operates within a variety of sectors, such as hospitality (encompassing hotels, licensed premises and restaurants), commercial, healthcare and retail – and they have a wealth of experience of working in sensitive and secure locations, including international airports.
As the new year unfolds, Pacific is looking forward to completing a number of high-commissions projects including the famous Seaton House Hotel in St Andrews and a new McDonald’s in Monifieth as well as commencing work on a major project at Parliament Square in the Capital.
These demonstrate the company’s commitment to forging relationships with companies across a wide range of sectors and to delivering projects of scale that involve an eclectic array of disciplines.
The order book for 2025 very much mirrors that of 2024, which involved, among other things:
- An upgraded passenger lounge for British Airways at Edinburgh International Airport.
- Bedroom and other refurbishments at the Holiday Inn Edinburgh Zoo, Apex, Marriott and Mount Royal hotels, all in the capital.
- The all-new Tortilla fast-food outlet at Glasgow International Airport.
- Refurbishment projects for McDonald’s fast-food outlets across Scotland.
Going forward, Pacific’s dedication to excellence, commitment to client relations and relentless pursuit of new ideas are the ingredients that are designed to carry the company through another 20 years of success.
