Painting and Decorating Association CEO awarded honorary fellowship

Neil Ogilvie

Painting and Decorating Association chief executive Neil Ogilvie has been named as an honorary fellow of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate of GB Inc (ICWCI).

Several ICWCI members nominated Neil for the prestigious Fellowship in recognition of his contribution to the construction industry over 47 years.

The nomination was considered by the Institute’s management doard which bestows the honour on a select few individuals, who have made an outstanding contribution to the industry.

Neil said: “I had no idea I was being considered for this prestigious accolade and it was an incredibly pleasant surprise.

“It has always been a pleasure to work closely with ICWCI members over many years as part of the judging process for the PDA’s Premier Trophy Awards.

“Their expertise is invaluable in demonstrating the robust evaluations of the winning projects and I feel both honoured and privileged to have been named an Honorary Fellow of ICWCI.”

Rachel Morris Hon FICWCI, chief executive of ICWCI, said: “The honorary fellowship is an honour we bestow on a very select number of individuals for their contribution either to the ICWCI or to the construction industry.

“ICWCI members who have worked closely with Neil on the PDA Premier Trophy Awards nominated him, citing his work with them in judging the awards, his unbroken contribution to the whole construction sector over the last 47 years and the great work he does regarding the PDA’s Apprentice of the Year and Apprentice Paperhanger of the Year competitions.

“Our management board agreed to bestow the prestigious role at our AGM in May and we are extremely pleased to welcome Neil as an honorary fellow.”
