Edinburgh-based building and project consultancy Paragon has launched a standalone dispute resolution support (DRS) service, making it one of the only UK building consultancies not to amalgamate the specialism within its wider quantity surveying work.

Paragon’s offer is jointly headed up by directors Norman Benn and Gary Butcher, who have over 55 years of combined construction-related experience.

DRS is a quantity surveying-based specialism provided directly to experienced clients, lawyers who lead on disputes or to quantum and delay experts.

It includes project and final account audits, forensic quantum surveying, dispute resolution quantum support, report preparation and other mediation, arbitration, expert determination and litigation quantity surveying support.

Commenting on the service launch, Norman Benn said: “Paragon is very proud of our industry-leading offer and that’s why we have launched DRS as a standalone service.”

Gary Butcher added: “Through this offer, we’ll continue to provide our expert consultancy and work flexibly as a member of our clients’ teams.”

Located on George Street in Edinburgh, Paragon also has offices in London, Esher and Manchester. The business completed a merger with Bond Davidson in May 2018, creating a £22 million business and one of the largest independent consultancies in the UK.

The consultancy provides a range of services to clients either based or owning property in Scotland including Aberdeen Standard Investments, Rockspring Property Investment Managers, Tristan Capital, Ediston Real Estate and Oval Real Estate.
