Specialist communications consultancy Perceptive Communicators has made a significant appointment to provide strategic communications services for Muir Group.

With an annual turnover exceeding £95 million and a workforce of around 300 employees, the family-owned Muir Group, which works across construction, home building, timber systems, property development and investment, represents a substantial addition to Perceptive Communicators’ built environment client portfolio, with Perceptive providing PR, communications and social media services.

This latest appointment follows Perceptive award success - being named ‘Supporting Organisation of the Year’ at the 2024 Homes for Scotland Awards, on 17 May, and a Top 50 UK & Ireland Inspiring Workplace for 2024.

Perceptive Communicators was recognised in the UK’s top 50 Inspiring Workplaces for its clarity of purpose and high employee engagement at a ceremony at Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Thursday 16 May. The following day Perceptive scooped Homes for Scotland’s supporting team of the Year. These awards recognise excellence in the homebuilding industry and reflect Perceptive’s contribution to this vital sector.

Martin Smith, CEO of Muir Group, said: “Perceptive Communicators’ specialist expertise in the built environment and property sectors perfectly aligns with Muir Group’s diverse business needs and goals. Perceptive has been delivering fantastic results for Muir Homes for many years, and we’re looking forward to expanding our partnership to support the full group.”

Supporting this growth, Perceptive Communicators has appointed Lauren Bailey as senior account executive. Lauren joins Perceptive from a large public relations consultancy and specialises in crafting and executing innovative communication campaigns.

In response to her appointment, Lauren said: “Perceptive Communicators’ core goal of using its skills and expertise to improve lives and transform futures aligned strongly with my values. I look forward to getting fully embedded across the science, technology and built environment sectors, collaborating with the talented team here at Perceptive and driving client success.”

Julie Moulsdale, managing director of Perceptive Communicators, welcomed Lauren’s appointment and expressed enthusiasm about the firm’s collaboration with Muir Group.

She remarked: “Muir Group’s diverse portfolio in construction, home building, property development, and hospitality presents an exciting opportunity for Perceptive Communicators to leverage our unique industry experience which delivers exceptional results and supports their goals.”

“This year is Perceptive’s 18th in business, so we’re excited to celebrate with two major award wins and growing our expert team with Lauren’s appointment. As a specialist in science, technology and the built environment, we have the industry focus, depth of knowledge and influential contacts to help our clients achieve their goals, with more exciting plans and growth to come this year.”
