Permission approved for serviced apartments in Glasgow city centre
Grant Murray Architects has secured planning permission from Glasgow City Council to build serviced apartments at the junction of 139-141 West Regent Street.
The approval clears the way for a seven-storey block containing 70 apartments alongside a ground floor restaurant and a rooftop bar following a redesign of prior proposals for 139-141 West Regent Street.
Finished in champagne gold terracotta cladding and natural stone the new build block will join with neighbouring offices which are to be built to provide 29 flats, Urban Realm reports.
In a decision notice, the city’s head of planning wrote: “The proposal was considered to be in accordance with the development plan and there were no material considerations which outweighed the proposal’s accordance with the development plan.”
The existing building was knocked down in 2022 for a previous proposal.
